As the demands on our built environment rise, labour shortages loom. With the world’s workforce increasingly moving away from undesirable tasks, the manufacturing, construction, and logistics industries critical to our daily lives are left exposed. By deploying our general-purpose humanoid robots in environments deemed hazardous or monotonous, we envision a future where human well-being is safeguarded while closing the gaps in critical global labour needs.

Responsibilities

  • Legal Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, and identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations, contracts, intellectual property, and other areas.
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, licensing agreements, and employment contracts, to protect the company’s interests and minimize legal exposure.
  • Intellectual Property Protection: Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, through registration, enforcement, licensing, and litigation as necessary.
  • Corporate Governance: Advise senior management and the board of directors on corporate governance matters, including board governance, compliance with corporate laws and regulations, and fiduciary duties of directors and officers.
  • Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution matters, including litigation strategy, outside counsel management, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, to protect the company’s interests and minimize legal exposure.
  • Employment Law Compliance: Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including hiring practices, employee relations, wage and hour laws, discrimination and harassment prevention, and workplace safety, and provide guidance on employment-related issues.
  • Data Privacy and Security: Develop and implement data privacy and security policies and procedures to protect customer and employee data, ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, and respond to data breaches and security incidents.
  • Legal Counsel and Advice: Provide legal advice and counsel to senior management and business units on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives, to support business objectives and mitigate legal risks.

Expertise

  • Legal Knowledge and Expertise: Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, intellectual property law, employment law, data privacy and security law, and other relevant areas of law, with the ability to apply legal principles to complex business issues.
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Proficiency in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and agreements, with a focus on protecting the company’s interests and minimizing legal risks in commercial transactions and business relationships.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Experience in managing intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and protecting intellectual property rights through registration, enforcement, and licensing.
  • Litigation Management: Knowledge of litigation and dispute resolution processes, including case management, litigation strategy, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, with experience in managing litigation matters effectively.
  • Corporate Governance: Understanding of corporate governance principles and practices, including board governance, corporate compliance, and fiduciary duties of directors and officers, and ability to advise senior management and the board on corporate governance matters.
  • Employment Law Compliance: Familiarity with employment laws and regulations, including hiring practices, employee relations, wage and hour laws, discrimination and harassment prevention, and workplace safety, and ability to provide guidance on employment-related issues.
  • Data Privacy and Security: Knowledge of data privacy and security laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant laws, and experience in developing and implementing data privacy and security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
  • Legal Counsel and Advisory: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical legal advice and counsel to senior management and business units on a wide range of legal issues, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
