Finance Operations Lead

Our Mission

At Humanoid we strive to create the world’s leading, commercially scalable, safe, and advanced humanoid robots that seamlessly integrate into daily life and amplify human capacity.

Vision

In a world where artificial intelligence opens up new horizons, our faith in its potential unveils a new outlook where, together, humans and machines build a new future filled with knowledge, inspiration, and incredible discoveries. The development of a functional humanoid robot underpins an era of abundance and well-being where poverty will disappear, and people will be able to choose what they want to do. We believe that providing a universal basic income will eventually be a true evolution of our civilization.

Solution

As the demands on our built environment rise, labour shortages loom. With the world’s workforce increasingly moving away from undesirable tasks, the manufacturing, construction, and logistics industries critical to our daily lives are left exposed. By deploying our general-purpose humanoid robots in environments deemed hazardous or monotonous, we envision a future where human well-being is safeguarded while closing the gaps in critical global labour needs.

About the Role

As Finance Operations Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day financial engine of the business: managing payables and receivables, running close processes, ensuring accurate books, and improving how data flows through the organisation. You will also help drive continuous improvement in systems, controls, and reporting—building the operational discipline that underpins scale.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Finance and FP&A Lead, while also partnering with procurement, engineering, supply chain, people, and product teams to ensure financial processes are integrated, efficient, and fit for purpose.

This role combines ownership of financial execution with process transformation, systems thinking, and stakeholder enablement.

What You’ll Do

  • Finance Operations Ownership
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll coordination, and vendor payments across entities
  • Manage the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
  • Maintain clean, timely, and accurate records in our accounting systems across multi-entity and multi-currency operations
  • Ensure internal finance operations run smoothly, with minimal manual effort or friction
  • Systems & Process Improvement
  • Build and refine finance workflows, approval chains, and internal controls
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of finance tools (ERP, accounting software, expense platforms)
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement to improve end-to-end data quality and reporting
  • Document and communicate processes clearly to ensure team-wide adoption
  • Reporting & Compliance Support
  • Support the Head of Finance with internal reporting on actuals, burn, and vendor spend
  • Maintain visibility into cost centres, contracts, and recurring expenses
  • Prepare documentation and data for audit, statutory filings, and compliance reporting
  • Contribute to VAT, R&D claims, and regional reporting requirements in collaboration with external advisors
  • Business Partnering
  • Be the go-to operational finance contact for teams across the business
  • Provide high-integrity data and financial insight to functional leaders as needed
  • Support proactive vendor management, cost optimisation, and spend governance
  • Work with FP&A to reconcile plans, actuals, and forecasts

We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years experience in finance operations, accounting, or financial control roles
  • Strong technical fluency across bookkeeping, payables/receivables, and close processes
  • Experience working in early- or growth-stage product businesses (e.g. hardware, manufacturing, deep tech)
  • Comfortable leading process design and system implementation from the ground up
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and motivated by clean, well-governed operations
  • Able to collaborate across levels and functions, while maintaining operational independence

Bonus Points

  • Experience with NetSuite, Xero, or other ERP/accounting platforms
  • Familiarity with UK/US/Canadian VAT and R&D tax credits
  • Background in audit, compliance, or internal controls
  • Exposure to scaling finance functions in venture-backed or globally distributed teams

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary plus participation in our Stock Option Plan
  • Paid vacation with adjustments based on your location to comply with local labor laws
  • Travel opportunities to our Vancouver and Boston offices
  • Office perks: free breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and regular team events
  • Freedom to influence the product and own key initiatives
  • Collaboration with top‑tier engineers, researchers, and product experts in AI and robotics
  • Startup culture prioritising speed, transparency, and minimal bureaucracy
